On Friday, November 26, 2021, floral tributes were paid to the brave martyrs of the country who have sacrificed their life on the terror attack of 26th November 2008 for saving the locals of Mumbai from the terrorists.
MINISTERS WHO HAVE ATTENDED THE ANNIVERSARY AT THE MEMORIAL
Bhagat Singh Koshyari the Governor of Maharashtra, Ajit Pawar the Deputy Chief Minister and Dilip Walse Patil the State Home Minister have paid tribute to the bravery of the martyrs who have died while fighting with the terrorists in South Mumbai.
REASON BEHIND SHIFTING THE MARTYRS MEMORIAL
Information was also collected from the reports given by the surveys that the memorial of the brave martyrs was shifted from the original site at Police Gymkhana in Marine Drive to the headquarters of police at Crawford Market. This has happened because the work on the Coastal Road Project is still going on. Uddhav Thackeray, the Chief Minister of Maharashtra who was currently hospitalized for spine surgery has also remembered the brave martyrs of Mumbai.
The 13th anniversary of the deadly terror attack of Mumbai was organized by maintaining the COVID protocol and only a limited number of people have attended the anniversary, at the memorial, some of the family members of the martyrs have also paid tribute to them.
ABOUT THE ATTACK
On 26th of November 2008, 10 terrorists from the group of Lashkar-e Taliban from Pakistan have arrived in India via sea route and opened fire, the terrorists have killed 166 citizens of India among which 18 security personnel’s were also included and they have injured many other people at the site of the attack during the siege of 60 hours in Mumbai.
