According to the information collected from the resources, The Directorate General of GST’s Intelligence have worked day night for some investigation at the leading Pan Masala Factory in Kanpur and finally discovered that one of its suppliers from the locality of Anandpuri has stashed an amount of around Rs 150 crore at a completely separate place. It was also mentioned that the locals of the site were already aware of this fact.
The locals of the site have mentioned that most of the cash has been counted meanwhile the State Bank of India has also helped the suppliers to count the money.
How the DGGI’s have discovered the money
The Directorate General of GST’s intelligence has mentioned that they have put some raids on the Masala Factory of Kanpur and also on the transporters which were hired by the company to supply its products. After imposing a raid on the transporter’s premises the DGGI’s have found that four currency counting machines were continuously working for the purpose of counting the cash stashed by the suppliers.
The DGGI have also informed that the transporters appointed by the factory have made multiple invoices under the name of nonexistent firms the amount of the invoices was around 50,000 for one truck load for the purpose of avoiding the bill generated against them.
