The convict of a rape case named Krishnan Kutty was given imprisonment for a period of 20 years for raping a 15 year old girl in the Year 2015.
The court named {Pocso} A Protection Of Children From Sexual Offences located at Thrissur in Kerala has given this punishment to the convict by setting a perfect example for the rapists as from now on they will get afraid before doing this kind of crime by thinking about the punishment given to this rapist. The court has also declared that this kind of person does not deserve any kind of sympathy and has also assured that they will not give parole to the convict.
The convict also has to pay an amount of Rs 1.50 lakh to the girl who has suffered through the incident as the court has imposed this fine on him and the girl was also made eligible for compensation through the Legal Service Authority.
She gave birth to a baby at the age of 16 and Kutty was confirmed as the father of the child.
Hence we can say that our laws were getting strict towards the rapists which might decrease the number of rapists in the country.
