The Cricket Association of Bengal has made an announcement on Monday regarding the selection of the team of Bengal which is going to play for the Ranji Trophy League against Tripura in which they have named the Opener Abhimanyu Easwaran as the Skipper of the team. Whereas this role of the team was earlier played by the most renowned player of the team Bengal named Sudip Chatterjee in the Syed Mushtaq Ali and Vijay Hazare Trophy.

The strangest fact about the announcement made by the Cricket Association of Bengal was that the six players of the team who have been tested positive for Covid on Sunday and were kept under isolation were also mentioned in the squad for playing against Tripura, the management authority has named this player in the squad because they have a hope that the team members will get well before the date when the entire team will fly off to Bengaluru for the league but in case they will not recover from Covid the team of Bengal will leave without them on Saturday.
Manoj Tiwary the state minister was also featured in the list of the CAB as the former skipper along with Abhishek Porel and Sakir Habib Gandhi as the two wicketkeepers of the team.
