Srinagar (Jammu & Kashmir): Before the security forces, a terrorist surrendered during anti-terrorism joint operation. It was released by the Indian Army as a dramatic video. The man seen in the video had joined terrorism a few days ago and was went missing from his home.
The man who surrendered, appeared to be in his early twenties and an AK-47 assault rifle has been recovered from him by the security officers. In the video release by the army shows a soldier wearing combat safety gear and holding an assault rifle communicated with the terrorist who appeared in the orchard.
The man identified as Jahangir Bhat with his hands in the air can be seen approaching the soldier. The soldiers assures that no harm will be done to him saying “koi goli nai chalaega”-“(nobody will shoot)- to his colleague members.
In the video it can be heard from the soldier “nothing will happen son”. The terrorist with his trousers on settled down on the mud of the orchard. The soldier added “isko pani do”-“Give him water”.
In the another video released by the officials, it is seen that the father of the terrorist was showing his gratitude to the forces for saving his son. The security personnels told his father “don’t let him go again with the terrorists”.
Speaking to a news channel, Lt General BS Raju, GOC 15 corps said that felt happy that the forces save a life and got him alive. As per the protocol, the Indian Army convinced the individual to surrender and the terrorist surrendered, according to the statement of the Army.
The father of the terrorist was at the site and the impact of the efforts to come back from the world of terrorism was visible. The Army made efforts to prevent terror recruitments and in case the youth joining, they provide options to get back.
This was one of the rarest anti-terror operation that culminated in a surrender. During an encounter in the month of August, a terrorist surrendered in Kiloora village in the Shopian district of J&K. In response, four of his associated got killed in the gun fight.
