The economic activity will have a deep impact due to the extension of lockdown by the Government of India. A foreign brokerage said that India’s GDP forecast sharply cuts to a contraction of 2% in this financial year.

This estimated data has been collected with the assumption that the lockdown will extend to mid of July and the stretch to boost the economy will start from the month of August according to the analysts of Bank of America Securities.

Economic impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic in India

RBI has also expected the economy to be contract in FY21 (2020-2021), but has not gave any point on it. Some analyst has also estimated the contraction up to 5%. The Central Government has re-opened the parts of the economy from 1st of June, while continuing the lockdown due to COVID-19 on the effected parts of the economy that contributes over 60% of the economy.

“The government has extended the national lockdown to June 30 with some further relaxation as Unlock 1.0. The analyst have estimated that the month’s slowdown will cost 1-2% of the whole GDP and with the restart of six weeks to shave off 0.60%.”

It has now been expected the GDP to be contract by 2%, 0.70% wider than the previous estimate. The brokerage was so quick to add that if the lack of the vaccines forces the government to continue with the semi-lockdown routine, then the economy will contract as 5%.

The brokerage to revise up the fiscal deficit by 0.50% to 6.3% as against 4.6% achieved in FY20 with the sharp reduction in the GDP contraction. The analysts have also estimated that by adding wider fiscal deficit will be a result of lower tax collection as they believe that higher fiscal spend is the hour needed.

At the consolidated level, the fiscal deficit will be coming between 9.9-10.4% of the GDP. The government will fund wider fiscal deficit through $13.3 billion increase to the open market operations by RBI to $88.5 billion, said by the analysts.

The devoted yogis of yoga will tell you that yoga is not only the path of enlightenment but also a source of happiness. Various studies support this claim by pointing at yoga not only a general practice for quelling stress but also ease in anxiety and elevating mood.

Although there is not scientific analysis done of which particular yoga pose makes happy. Researches show that body posturing, respiration process and thinking positively that influence our physiology. With every reactions by the body, we experience hormonal reactions which prompt physical and mental manifestations such as crossing our arms when defensive or angry, crying when sad and smiling when happy.

Science proved that we can reverse the response of emotion to body by leveraging our mental and physical states in order to alter our present state response of emotion. For instance, even forced smile in a stressful situation, that generally we don’t do immediately lessens the stress response by eliciting happy hormone production.

Although everyone wants to be happy and I have been practicing Yoga myself and with the clients that is based on poses, meditation and breathing and I can happily attest the benefits.

Diaphragmatic Breathing :

It is the process of expanding and contracting your diaphragm to take long breaths. To stimulate this breathing first you have to inhale deeply for a five count to the lowest lobes of lungs. You have to focus on the lower ribs and avoid any arch in your midback.

From : PT Helper

Then you can exhale completely to empty your lungs. You can continue this for 90 seconds.

Warrior but not a Worrier :

Harvard study 2010 on “power posing” shown that by holding the open-body postures for at least two minutes increases testosterone and decreases cortisol. It is a confident-boosting hormone with less anxiety and self-assuredness. To practice this you have to open your body without crossing your limbs or slumping. You have to hold this and take five breaths on each side and total amount of time you have give is two minutes.

Relax and Remember :

Take your few minutes and focus on relaxing and happiness in order to be happy. According to a study of 2012, that shows that practicing “relaxation intervention” not just only reduces stress but also helps in healing of wound. That is why I give seven to this activity daily.
While relaxing, you can think of your happiness moments that will actually serve a simple and an effective form of meditation. Most people don’t like to follow this meditation and adding a fake smile also will definitely boost the propensity for happiness, thus reducing stress and elevating mood.

“Criticism is also a kind of information but there is a need of boundary if such criticism becomes a part of the spread of misinformation and this is not good for the system. If every system is mistrust then you all just have an anarchy,” Kaul said.

Responding to Covid-19 | Indefinite lockdown will be more harmful – says Public Health Expert – The TLC News

A group of Public Health Experts out of them two are the part of Government advisory committee to contain the pandemic has said that by enforcing the “indefinite lockdown” would be disruptive. They also added that if the migrants have been sent to their respective home at the beginning of the pandemic, when the spread was very low as compared to the current scenario, then the condition would have been definitely avoided. Now the situation has got worse as they are now carrying the infection to every corner of the country; mostly to the pre-urban and rural areas where the public health system is relatively weak, said by Indian Public Health Association (IPHA), Indian Association of Epidemiologists, and Indian Association of Preventive and Social Medicine (IAPSM).

The government has announced a series of relaxations on Friday and limited the lockdown to containment zones only until June 30 and certain other relaxations were introduced after June 8. It can be called that the country has been unlocked partially not wholly.

The letter also signifies that “because of the limited information available in the public domain, the government was primarily advised by the academic epidemiologist and clinicians which are having limited field trainings and skills.”

India is paying a heavy price in the terms of humanitarian crisis and the disease spread, according to the experts. The incoherent rapid shifting strategies and the policies at the national level gives a reflection of “catching up” and “afterthought” phenomenon of the policy makers than a well-organized thought with an epidemiologist, they added.

Dr.Sanjay Zodpey, President of IAPSM, Vice-President of Public Health and Dr.D.C.S. former professor & Head of IMS, BHU were among those who were continuously advising the government and offering signatories to the letter. For latest updates, stay tuned to The TLC News
