The children’s between the age group of 15 – 18 who were yet to be vaccinated by any kind of vaccines will start getting their first dose of Covid Vaccine from today.
The Decision taken by the Government of India to provide vaccines to the teenagers of the Country has come into action from Today around 8 lakh teens have registered their name on the government Cowin Portal and will start getting their dose of Covaxin from Today.
This decision is going to play a very important role in having a control over the spread of the new variant of Covid named Omicron as now the majority of Children’s will lose the Probability of getting affected by the virus as they will get vaccinated now. For the purpose of providing vaccines to teens, a large number of schools and other educational institutions will be used as vaccination centers.
The Union Health Ministry has further stated that only doses of Covaxin will be given to the teenagers of the country and the additional doses will be sent to the states and the Union Territories.
