The Election Commission of India has called the Secretary of the Union Health Ministry of the Country Rajesh Bhushan to gain information about the COVID Situation and Vaccination status of the states where the elections are going to be conducted this year.
Information Given by Resources to TOI
Some resources have given the information to the Times of India that the Election Commission of the country is going to announce the election soon as there are very few cases of Omicron positive patients in the country whereas the recovery rates of the person are much higher than that along with this the states where polls will be conducted have a very low Covid positivity rate and the majority of the people were vaccinated there.
The Election Commission will conduct the polls under Appropriate Covid precautions
Steps taken by the Election Commission while taking the Decision
While taking this decision the Election Commission have discussed this topic with Randeep Guleria director of AIIMS and Balram Bhargava the chief of ICMR and have done a complete review upon the Covid situation of the country whereas the inputs of the medical experts were also taken with regard to the measurements they were going to adopt while conducting the polls.
