Nathaniel Gleicher the head of the security of facebook have explained to us that the users who fall under the category of journalists, human rights defenders and activists will soon start getting a notification asking them for registering their account in the application named Facebook protect and will also guide them to enable the 2-factor authentication of the app which might need an OTP via SMS or a third party application.
Estimation Of The Number Of People Who Have Registered Their Accounts For Facebook Protect
Facebook has also given the details that in September 2021 around 1.5 million people have registered their accounts for the application Facebook protect and around 950,000 of these accounts have activated the two factor activation for the security of their accounts which also shows that a huge number of people trusted this application.
