By the Eight-week Lockdown and the strengthened public measures. The peak stage of COVID-19 has been delayed and it will arrive back in the mid-November when the need of ICU beds, isolation, and ventilators will arise, study says.

The study which has been conducted by the researchers by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) said that the lockdown due to the pandemic has shifted its peak from an estimated 34 days to 76 days with effectively bringing down the infections between 69% and 97%, allowing the time to take up steps in resources and the health infrastructure.
In the scenario, where the lockdown has played an important role bringing the effectiveness of 60% infections and then Unlock 1.0 may rise the demand of facilities in the mid-week of November. By the researchers, the isolation beds will be inadequate for 5.4 months, the ventilators for 3.9 months, and the ventilators for 4.6 months.
However this shortfall of the health equipment is estimated to be 83% less. With the sustained measures taken to increase the infrastructure and the day by day varying pace of the pandemic in different regions and the unmet need can be reduced. According to the study if the healthcare measures is increased by 80%, this pandemic can be mitigated.
From the model-based analysis of the pandemic in India, if there is additional capacity build for testing, treating, and isolating the patients during the period of lockdown, the cases which are at the peak could reduce to 70% and the cumulative cases may drop nearly by 27%.
The analysis also showed that the mortality rate of 60% were prevented and the deaths which have taken place due to the pandemic is due to the unmet needs of critical care.
The country saw the case rate grows to 11,929 due to COVID-19, which makes the total data of cases to 3,20,922, which has been recorded on Sunday while the fatal cases rose to 9,195, according to the Union Health Ministry Data. For the latest news, stay tuned to The TLC News
