About the new virus “Omicron”
On 24th of November 2021 a new COVID causing virus was detected in South Africa and on 26th of November 2021 the World Health Organization have given declaration to this variant and named this as “Omicron” the World Health Organization have also given the information that this variant of COVID named Omicron has a large number of mutations among which some of the mutations are novel where as some of them will affect the spike protein which is used for targeting more vaccine at the time of its discovery.
PM’s speech during the Winter Session of the Parliament
Before starting of the winter session of the Parliament PM Narendra Modi has said that the citizens of India will have to be very careful about this new variant of COVID causing virus discovered in South Africa as it has a large number of mutations and it will also spread very easily so the people have to make a habit of using masks regularly and have to follow all the COVID protocols to prevent the spreading of this new COVID causing virus.
In order to safeguard the people of the country, PM Narendra Modi has added in his speech that the Medical authorities of India is working very hard to reach a target of 150 crore vaccines.
