The PGIMER of Chandigarh has decided to run Physical OutPatient Departments from 10th of January 2022 for the purpose of preventing the Vulnerability of Patients having Comorbidities with COVID 19.
The Physical Outpatient Department will be run only through the process of Appointment system and the registration time for the patients will begin from 8:30 AM and will last up to 9:30 AM hence the patients which will get registered their name in the Outpatient Department will be able to get admitted in it by the hospital authority.
Know the Statement made by PGI regarding the Outpatient Departments
The PGI has made a statement regarding the running of the Outpatient Departments in which they have said
“Overcrowding leads to the risk of outbreak of Covid-19 among patients along with the attendants and healthcare workers in the OPD areas of the institute. Hence, the OPD Department has decided that tele-consultation will be used as the first point of contact between patients and doctors. Patients will be evaluated first through tele-consultation and only those requiring further evaluation and examination will be called to the OPD by appointment from January 10 onwards. The primary objective behind this decision is to prevent the exposure of comorbid patients to Covid-19 infection,”
