Rahul Gandhi not leading Congress to win 2024: says Letter Writer

New Delhi: After two disastrous outcomes in the national elections, Rahul Gandhi may not be the best option for the Congress Party revival, one of the 23 veterans who found themselves sideline over their dissent letter to the Congress Chief- Miss Sonia Gandhi, told NDTV India that the fissures from the last 135 years are far outfitted from patched up.

In the recent months there has been call for Rahul Gandhi to return as the Congress Chief as Gandhi had quitted after 2019 elections and after two months his mother Sonia Gandhi has returned as interim chief.

From Nagpur (Madhya Pradesh) to Shimla (Himachal Pradesh)-the northern half of the country, the Congress party has 16 seats out of which they have 8 seats in Punjab. We should realize that we are in India and now there is a different reality. If there will be any meeting, will put my views on the issues, said the leader.

Including that the battle is not about the individuals but it is of certain issues, Rahul Gandhi reiterated his commitment to the party and said that by building an attractive and alternative narrative based on the constitutional values will help the Congress.

In the letter, most of the letter writer said that after being in politics from a long time, they have high respect and regards to Sonia Gandhi. They said that the issues raised by the party will help to get survived and definitely succeed on the BJP.

Mr Rahul Gandhi said, the letter is fair-minded and will keep her words and will address the issues. The letter said that they will continue the meeting and will discuss the concerned and are raising them despite the loyalists and sycophants attacking to build the narrative that Mr. Rahul Gandhi is a natural leader.

After the sharp attacks on the party, the meeting ended on the conciliatory note with Miss Sonia Gandhi ended up saying that all was forgiven. The interim Congress Chief Sonia Gandhi will continue as the Party Chief untill the next All India Congress Committee (AICC) which is to be called in the six months, the party said.
