According to the Information collected from some reports, it was cleared that the Indian Railways have earned an amount of Rs 403 Crore from the Tatkal tickets and 119 crores from the premium Tatkal tickets along with Rs 511 crore from the dynamic fares from the year 2020 – 21. Individuals used to book these tickets for emergency travel and pay premium charges for buying the tickets
Response of the Railway Authorities against the RTI of MP
The state of Madhya Pradesh has filed a RTI and as a response to this RTI, the Railway authorities have mentioned the details that, In the Year 2021 they have earned an amount of Rs 240 crore from Dynamic Fares, Rs 353 Crore from the Tatkal tickets along with Rs 89 Crore from the Premium Tatkal Tickets.

After The Parliamentary standing Committee has made a remark on the Railways regarding the charge of the tatkal tickets that they are “a little unjustifiable” for the people who were financially weak as they were not able to afford it for all the time when they need to travel emergently at a place.
