Third Arihant Class nuclear powered submarine launched in Visakhapatnam

From the Visakhapatnam Ship Building Centre, the UK based Jane’s Defense weekly through satellite Imagery has published a report featuring the information about the Submarine Launched by the Indian Government silently which is the third Arihant Class Nuclear Powered Submarine launched at the Secretive Ship Building Centre {SCB} in Visakhapatnam.

On 29th of December 2021 the magazine has published a report in which the details was clearly mentioned that the S4 Submersible Ballistic Nuclear Submarine was launched on 23rd of November 2021 and was replaced near a “fitting out wharf” which was recently occupied by the INS Arihant another nuclear armed missile submarine. According to the reports Published in Janes. This missile submarine named Arighat was launched in the month of November in the year 2014 and was waiting for a commission which was delayed because of the critical condition created by this Ongoing Pandemic.

Specifications of the submarine

The Janes Defense weekly has also mentioned that the new Submarine S4 is quite bigger than the INS Arihant and is able to carry a number of 8 K -4 Ballistic Missiles.  The approximate weight of the submarine launched named S4 SSBN was around 7,000 tonnes with a load waterline measurement of 125.4m.
